Wow… what a game today, man. The Jets got the win and played some good football, in my opinion. I haven’t done one of these yet, but I really want to start doing post-game reactions more often. Hopefully this is something I continue the rest of the year—along with posts for my other teams. But man, today’s game really has me hyped. And how could you not be? A walk-off winner on a 56-yard field goal? Hell yes. Shoutout Nick Folk for the game-winner. There were some positives to take away that I hope the Jets build on next week—and for the rest of the season.

Let’s start with Breece Hall. Just keep feeding this man the ball. While Garrett Wilson (G5) is out, Breece is our most dynamic playmaker and should be getting 20–25 touches a game between rushing and receiving. He had 19 carries for 68 yards and a touchdown today, but only two catches for 8 yards. When the run game is struggling like it was today—still not terrible—the Jets need to find more ways to get him the ball in space in the passing game, the same way the Falcons use Bijan Robinson. He’s too dynamic not to.

And with Taylor starting over Fields now, defenses are playing Breece a little differently. While Tyrod is a threat to run, he’s obviously not as dynamic as Justin Fields.

Speaking of Tyrod Taylor, he played a really solid game. He was Tyrod: the game manager who gives you a chance to win, like he’s done for most of his career. And he did exactly that today. Tyrod went 19/33 for 172 yards and a touchdown with no picks, plus added 8 rushes for 44 yards and another score. That’s a strong outing—especially considering the cold, snowy weather. Tyrod was a big reason the Jets won today, and I’m confident he’ll give us another chance next week if the defense holds up.

Now, the defense wasn’t anything special today, but they still gave us a chance to win—that’s all you can ask. We’d obviously prefer that Robinson doesn’t run for 142 yards again, but it wasn’t so bad that the offense had no shot. I expect better next week, but who knows—we still have holes that need to be addressed. Nevertheless, they did their job enough to win.

The offensive line has been good all year and continued that today. Membou had a tough game with some penalties but has still played outstanding in his rookie season. He’s learning every week, and overall he’s been impressive. They allowed only two sacks and gave the QB time when needed. A lot of the Jets’ struggles this season have been QBs holding the ball too long, but that wasn’t really an issue today.

John Metchie III and AD Mitchell have been great additions since the Jets acquired them at the trade deadline. Metchie had a couple drops today, but overall he’s been trending upward these last few weeks. But man—AD Mitchell had a career game today and showed why he has the talent to be a strong complementary piece to Wilson. Both of them do. Mitchell finished with 8 catches for 102 yards and a touchdown, including that 52-yard deep shot where he just burned the defense. I can’t wait to see those two with Garrett Wilson again—whether Wilson returns later this season or the Jets play it safe and wait until next year. Either way, I’m hyped to see that trio with Hall.

And special teams? Outstanding again. Honestly, they’ve been one of our most consistent units all year. They recovered a fumble on a punt that set up Breece’s first touchdown. They had a couple of great returns that set up strong field position, especially the last one that helped position Nick Folk for the game-winner. That was huge. And again—shoutout to Folk for drilling that 56-yard walk-off.

We haven’t had many of these, but Jets fans will get to celebrate a Victory Monday tomorrow. Congrats to everyone enjoying it. Hopefully this isn’t our last one of the season.
